PhotoBooth and QT Player can record via the iSight, though I don't know about brightness settings.
A more descriptive and precise thread title will help cater to the right audience and get you more adequate responses. (see rule #3 under How do I get help with a hardware or software problem (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:MacRumors_FAQ#How_do_I_get_help_with_a_hardware_or_software_problem.3F))
To edit your thread title, just click on the http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/edit.gif button on the bottom right of your original post and then click the "Go Advanced" button below your message.

Have you also taken a look at MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/), since that question may have been asked several times?

you could render in h.264 and wrap in mpeg4 instead. don't know about qt windows, but mac version needs a plugin (Perian for example) to play avi files.
never thought of dv as a delivery codec, regardless of the wrapper, but haven't messed with tape in some time.
Then he may have deleted Quicktime and now Windows Movie Maker has taken over and changed the default file opening so he can't open the others. seems to be a user error.

Have you tried applying a screen shield like SGP or Powersupport with water?
It should make it much easier to align and also eliminate all the bubbles or dust, InvisibleShield is applied with water, why shouldn't a normal one work?... Still it's better to ask though.

Yah. Cutting mat, steel rule and a really sharp blade. Start and end your cut along both long edges inside the edge of the paper, then rotate 90 and cut through on the other edges.

Nermal, you're a hero ! Thanks ! Just when I thought I had given up finding something out there that was capable of .RA-to.MP3 conversions, you came along ! Hijack works a treat. Brilliant ! By the way, I could NEVER be 'that desperate' in buying Virtual PC ! Thanks again :-)

I prefer using TeamViewer (www.teamviewer.com), which works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Ubuntu, iPhone, iPad, etc. It's very secure and quite simple to set up and use.

Who seriously sits down and takes the time to think this sort of thing up, then write up an article? This could be one of the most ridiculous topics I've ever heard of.
It's odd, at least.

At first glance it seems like it has nothing to do with iMovie, but once look around you will notice it is everything to do with iMovie. Great site, thanks for the link! :)

What solution did you find? I am looking for the same thing and don't need everything CADTools includes. Basically just measurements.... I'd be grateful if you'd share the solution you found. Thanks.

Are there any other options besides a $99 software? That's a little pricey for my budget.

Hey guys,
about to pic up a machine locally with this description.
1.5ghz
1.25gb ram
80gb 7200rpm
superdrive
scratches all around, one ding on the back, 2 on the bottom, right j bracket loose, trackpad works only intermittently. comes with fresh install of leopard and original box.
What do you guys think? is $395 a good price? I plan on using this machine at my desk only...(i have 12" machines for school, and I wanted something with a bigger screen). I just want to make sure this sounds like the right price. Thanks guys.
EDIT: forgot to mention: I am pretty handy, so I can replace the topcase and keyboard, but just wondering if it is worth it. There were no pics, but I asked for some.

It's incredible the improvement in computing horsepower, but it's also kind of disappointing that fundamentally the software hasn't changed much. Things are prettier of course, and we've been able to store more and more media digitally, but I think we've been grossly underutilizing the advances in hardware from an innovation standpoint.

Hmmm, that could be!
I'm looking at buying this one to test:
http://www.aten.com/products/productItem.php?pid=20080530134132001&psid=2008071410537002&pcid=20050107104612001&layerid=subClass6
I will have to use a Minidisplayport->HDMI from the Mac. Could I experience EDID (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_display_identification_data) issues with this?
I remember a DVI-splitter at school, which only worked when I used a Mac with a built-in DVI output. When trying to connect it to my MBP using a DVI-adapter, the screens went black, due to what I think was issues with EDID.
