My Aunt and Uncle live just up the road from the Chermside store so every time I'm in Brisbane I visit the Chermside store, but I would defiantly catch a bus into the CBD to see this new Apple Store. I think it's cool the way Apple is using old pre war buildings around the world as their flagship stores.

Why is this thread locked? and can anyone explain to me "cracked apps"
Cracked apps are apps from the App Store that can be installed on jailbroken iPhones without the need to buy the app. Very wrong as well as very illegal.

How would you be able to use it in your truck? Don't you need a WiFi connection or something?
Sorry I'm clueless lol.
Well I presume he also has an iPhone, in which case he can link them together through personal hotspot and it would work.
That would be the only plausible explanation that I could think of.

I was thinking about this on my way home today.
If your driving on the highway you would obviously get better fuel economy if you turned off your A/C. But if you turned off the A/C and opened the windows of your car would the aerodynamics get messed up and reduce your fuel economy. If so by how much. It would obviously depend on the vehicle, but I'm just speaking in general.
Maybe I'll preform an experiment one of these days...

Common? Common would mean the majority. I don't see 50% of Wii nunchucks having this problem, just as it's not common for a 360 to break (unless that figure IS over 50%?).
OP - Just contact Nintendo. kick up a fuss and get some Wii Points too. If it's broken or just faulty then they will ship you out a new one. These are the guys who will replace DS's with a single dead pixel after all!
Oh well I only have this problem with COD3 every once and a while. I just thought maybe it wasnt the numchuck .

Its a hard decision, deciding between a macbook air and a macbook pro. I'm not even going to buy one until summer, because I want to have a computer with OS X Lion. Plus, the MBA doesn't have a superdrive, so I can't watch movies or games. That won't even work with remote disk.
Any comments?

Completely painless upgrade thanks to Pkgbakup and Dropbox. Now to see if claimed battery improvements are real
Please let us know, this battery issue with 4.3.1 is really bothering me for the last 2 months. If anyone else can confirm battery life improvements from 4.3.1/2 I would much appreciate it!

Does anyone out there know how to listen to a DJ's fully mixed album on an iPod?!
The CD original obviously plays as intended.
On iPod via iTunes is introduced a brief pause between tracks - meaning the intended effect of a mixed transition between tracks is ruined.
Anyone in deep listening to Sasha's awsome new album 'Involver' will understand this is a delicate matter!
Cheers

If it used your iPhone/iPad memory for buffering the converted video and didn't upload it to some server in the states, it might be less of a compromise.
What's the point in an .flv to HTML5/H.264 converter if it works any other way?
The first page of UK reviews on the iTunes store say it all but just the concept of it being server side to start with puts me off, the ads when it's a paid for app are another thing that's not exactly tempting me into trying it.

I think with something like this, it's not so much the content of the post as it is the scrolling required. Nobody likes to scroll. When you have to scroll that much more (times 75) because some guy just wants to say "I agree," it's kind of distracting. It definitly detracts from the experience.
Brief affirmative responses are ok every now and then, but if it's all you're doing then you're not adding to the community.
I agree ;)

Boo, I thought I had decided which one I wanted, then I came across this:
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/EliteALmini/RAID/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB
The one I was originally looking at was
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/1394/USB/EliteAL/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB
It says the portable drive has up to 300mb/s transfer rate, while the other one has up to 150mb/s transfer rate. Is it safe to say that the portable drive is significantly faster in this case or is it just for SSD? I'd imagine 7200RPM drives from the same company would run at similar speeds. I'm not completely familiar with RAID either, and I know SSDs are a lot faster (so maybe the 300mb/s was talking about an SSD which I don't want).
Any confirmation would be great =D

I installed the updates and when asked me to restart the machine I couldn't restart it...
First time I have to turn off the machine with the power button.
Changes? at first I don't feel anything new (maybe under the hood) but when I fired up Entourage it asked me for my credentials in the keychain, if I wanted to give access to check the mail.
Are you fairly new to OS X? If so, did you know about cmd-option-esc (option might be labelled alt depending on your keyboard) to check for non-responsive (hung) apps before doing that? Usually you can take the
hung app out with that by using the force quit button. You shouldn't have to use the power button. If you aren't new to OS X, sorry if that sounded patronising, just trying to help :)
OS X is fairly resilient, I haven't had it do anything like that (except when I had a hardware fault) for a couple of years. Even MS can't take it down usually!

Make sure they are gone because u don't want duplicates after this:
Go to google and search iPhone Explorer, it's an app that allows u to copy things from your iPhone to iTunes. I lost my library and did this, it will transfer the song it's album art, info, and lyrics etc. And it will do apps and photos too if needed. When u connect the phone open the app and u click on your phone and it will give u lists of files just go to music then do it by artists or individual songs.

I've been developing websites since 1995, and prior to that was involved in multimedia, so, it was a natural progression for me.
Everyone has a creative dry spell now and then, and everyone has different methods for overcoming it. When it happens to me, I go on vacation. If that's not possible, I change my routine and try to put some distance between me and the creative problem I'm trying to solve. I just do something else, and then go back to the problem with "fresh eyes."
If you want a job in web development, my advice is to learn a web language like PHP or ASP. There's more demand and the pay is better. If you like the design side of the biz better, then specialize in a certain area like interface design or information design which large web development companies need. But, either way, it's always good to have some experience and skill in both the programming and design aspects of web development.
Sound advice, definitely learn both sides, freelance dynamic web programmers are back in demand again after the dot.com implosion, I started as a Print Designer and Graphic Artist, then worked my way up to Art Director, then our company moved our whole business model to the internet and e-commerce so I had to learn Web Design with HTML, CSS, and static webpage design.
Now I am going back again and having to learn not only XHTML and XML but dynamic programming like Java, Cold Fusion, PHP and ASP.
As a Web Production Manager now, I manage 6 web designers remotely via iChat, FTP and Email and in order to QC, make changes and revisions and optimize websites for Search Engines and Google page ranking, a working knowledge of the dynamic or server side aspects of websites nowdays is a MUST. I can't emphasize this enough.
Programming languages are the structure and backbone that websites use to communicate with each other on the WWW, knowing what language to communicate in in any culture is critical.

Another question:
Should I invest in BBEdit?
I already downloaded SEEdit (Free) and have a friend that does all his work in Text Edit.

Tired of my company Websites looking like a third grader did them.

the otterbox armband is pretty awesome. I just looked on their website and they seem to no loner sell it, but it was designed for the 3g in one of those bulky defender cases. its basically an armband with a rubber grip that you stretch around the phone. its so tight that you can grip the iphone without a case at all.
im glad i got it when i could, because its basically the last arm band you'll ever need, it will fit basically any iphone, or device of similar size, so im sure you're case will work.

Awesome Note is great.
Awesome Note is not bad: beautiful, powerful and with alarm notifications.
But I recommend Things. Because it is more intuitive and more easy-to-use!

An Apple Airport Express should do what you want. It comes with setup instructions for both Mac and Windows and has a connection port for a printer. If you want to save few $$ it is listed in the Apple Store 'SAVE' section (refurbished with same warranty as new) for $99 right now.
