Well in iMovie it would be pretty simple, import your song and pictures of choice and just click and drag the pictures and song into your timeline and go from there. I'm not sure how exactly you plan on doing it to the beat without a more professional editing software- somewhere along the lines of Final Cut Pro (or Express).

Doubt they'll give you a new unit but they WILL fix your current one, go ahead and bring it in.
Well in the case that they can't fix it, they will replace it.

To be honest, I won't worry about it. IIRC, a MacBook Pro idles at about 20W. With this, the bigger battery will only have 10-12 minutes longer life. Under load, this'll obviously drop.
Once the battery has been through a few cycles, I think you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference (the new battery should be unused, so may actually hold more than the old battery, as it's capacity will have dropped).

I've got Plex installed on my MacBook Pro. I'm using the iPad Plex app to stream mkv's from my library on my MacBook to my iPad connected via HDMI to my plasma TV.
1080p files are super jerky, and unwatchable.
720p files however, play perfect.
So I've set up a 1080p folder, and a 720p folder (for my iPad)
Essentially I'm using my iPad as an Apple TV.
I think the post above is correct. I don't think the iPad has the horsepower to handle 1080p
Great. I'm gonna have to try that Plex app. Didn't realize it was on the iPad. Would be cool if XBMC was an app but we know that's not going to happen with Apple.
Thanks for testing out the streaming of 1080p via HDMI adapter. Maybe by iPad 3 you'll be able to :p

I use the built in Mac screen sharing utility to remotely log in and share my wife's desktop and my server. Works like a charm and was simple to set up.

Isn't that system capable of 6GB or even 8GB ram?
I would just upgrade and keep it if you can wait. If not, go ahead, but after you're done with design, you'll be looking to sell that for another system again. For the same $700, you can upgrade quite a bit with the current system.
Yes, up to 8 GB. Even the 13" aluminum unibody MacBooks from late 2008 are capable of 8 GB.

It seems that recently there have been a lot of robberies in Apple stores, but it always happens, and I suppose there's a lot more now than there used to be.
Probably doesn't help that they floor to ceiling glass doors and windows at every store either

Starting to irritate me. Here's the deal.
I have an Airport running in 5GHz 802.11n. The SSID is hidden. Up until now I've been able to connect to it without issue. Recently though, I'm finding issues.
I have three computers connected to the Airport. Of the three, only my MacBook Pro seems to conveniently "forget" the SSID and won't connect to it automatically anymore. If I manually re-enter the SSID it will connect fine, but it won't stick. The moment I leave the house with it, or it hibernates, it won't re-connect. The iMac connects fine, the Air connects fine. It's only the Pro that is having this issue.
Now, the Pro is the oldest of the computers, bought in July of last year, for what it's worth. Up until now I've never had it happen this frequently.
Any ideas? I know this is an ongoing problem with Snow Leopard, but I'd really like to get a resolution. It's not the Airport, because the same thing happened with another router, plus the other computers connect fine.

Any way to save the shsh while stuck in this loop? Tiny tries but fails.
Does TinyUmbrella actually see your iPad? Or does TinyUmbrella fail to see it? If it fails to actually see the iPad then you have a chance that the original owner might have saved the SHSH blobs, if they were not saved then you are out of luck. Because you chose to erase/reset your only option now is to upgrade to 4.3.1. You can use Sn0wBreeze 2.4b1 to jailbreak 4.3.1, it is however a tether jailbreak...

I bought something very similar to that. The design is the same but the holes are a little different. The bottom is one large hole, which is good since the USB cable can be plugged. I have a case like the one you linked nad it's a little difficult. Also the one you linked is from Hong Kong so it's a mighty long wait :/

If none of those options work for you, find a church or school that would take them. Many have access to low income families that could use a computer for simple word processing, email and web surfing.

The iPod's Music Quiz game really is a pretty fun idea. We tend to think of games on a music player as just "extras," but this one is actually a great MUSIC feature! A fun way to you explore your collection.

dude. I would call and complain.
Right now (if they're still open, which I doubt.)
Make a huge stink. They scratched your $$$$$ Powerbook.
You spent a lot of money on it, and you shouldn't have it be manhandled by Apple.
I'm disgusted that there is a BIG BLACK HAIR on it. That is just disgusting. Not as disgusting as having hair in food. You should run a DNA test on it. HeHe

Take you music off your iPad (use your ipod for music).
16gigs is plenty for apps if you don't put music or videos on your iPad

In my experience XCode 4 is a bit more resource hungry than XCode 3 was, I wouldn't want to do it with less than 4GB of memory.

With a spill, all bets are off. You could try resetting NVRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379), but with water damage, it's a long shot.

The Reekfish? The game makes it so painfully obvious and easy to catch, but if you really need help you could look at a FAQ over at GameFAQs.com
I know you know how to fish if you were able to make it past the first hour of the game (since you have to catch a fish to progress). :)

FAIL article. Basically an uneducated promo for Android (Android will have free tethering!) that turned out to be false. In reality, all carriers are cracking down on Android devices.
