I use a Western Digital MyBook HD (USB) to record audio from Pro Tools and it works perfectly fine. I could suggest a firewire 800 HD though to free up those USB ports (or get a USB hub).

I'd rather look for them on eBay or international shopping sites like cdwow.net or CrazyTiger, but if everything fails... yeah, it might be illegal since you didn't pay for lossless, but morally you should be fine.

I have the following items for sale. Right now it's a package deal but I may be willing to part out the V-Moda earbuds and InMotion speakers for the right price.
I've done the best I could with photos.
iPod Video 60 GB. Condition 8+
The back has little hairline scratches, it's been in a case the whole time but as you know the Agent 18 cases allow dirt to collect underneath and so there are signs of scratching. Apple said iKlear may clean up some of the scratches. I'll let the buyer do the cleaning. You can see the front has a protective cover, that is what shipped with the iPod, I just never took it off.
The iPod will be wiped, please don't anticipate any music to be on the iPod.
It comes with the following:

Wow, so we're seeing a Ninja Gaiden game because "they chose to go with the Nintendo DS over the PSP specifically because of the stylus". Cool as. I really enjoyed the difficulty of Ninja Gaiden, from all systems I suppose! Picked it up for the NES not so long ago and the Xbox version. Sounds like something to look forward to.

CS5 Master Collection came with 257 fonts in the Goodies folder. How do I install them? Some say just drag them into /Library/Fonts, others say use Fontbook (it's like iTunes for fonts??), and still others say to just double-click the fonts and they will auto install although where on my Mac I don't know. I also read I should only install one type for each particular font. What type should I choose? OpenType? TrueType? Or PostScript?

It does look more like a page formatting issue than the ad resizing itself that big.

Hi guys,
Recently I've been looking at purchasing a Macbook Pro for iPhone game development. As well as Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and general browsing. I'm currently stuck between getting a 13" or the 15". The 13" has a 2.7Ghz i7 dual-core with intergrated Intel HD 3000 graphics compared to the 15" which has a 2.0Ghz quad-core, but a 256MB ATI 6490M.
If the dual-core/intergrated graphics is more than sufficient to handle them programs without bottlenecking/crashing, surely the extra .7ghz would make it the better purchase?(Let alone over 500 quid cheaper).
Thanks,
- Toimia

You can join tracks before you import them, but 4.7.1 does not let you join tracks once they're in your library.
I'm not sure if earlier versions allowed it.

It's a security-based encryption key challenge, to test the security of 72-bit RC5 keys, to see if it can be cracked. 64-bit RC5 encryption was cracked successfully in 2002. It took them about 5 years to crack that code. They are less than 1% done cracking the 72-bit key, and they have been at it since the RC5-64 challenge ended in 2002 (8 years). About 0.9% through testing all possible keys in the keyspace to see if they match.
It's a distributed computing effort, and you run a client program on your machine, which fetches keys to test, then the cruncher tests each block of keys, and sends the data back to the server. Your stats are logged daily on a stats server, and it's a competitve contest to see who can crack the most keys. Faster machines will crack better, and the more computers you have running the client, the better.
RSA securities (the company that did security for Netscape) was originally hosting the contest with a $10,000 prize to the winner. The prize was to be split between distributed.net, the winner, the winner's team, and a voted charity organization. The winner got $1,000 and his team got $1,000 to split between themselves.
So, in sum, RC5-72 is a key-cracking challenge to test the strength and security of 72-bit key encryption. We all use 128-bit keys now for internet security, which are practically as safe as we can get. At the rate they are cracking RC5-72, it could take as much as 25 more years to finally crack it and find the matching key!!

Just what the title says. I just ordered the clear iPhone 4 back from iFixit and in the article it says it looks better without the EMI shield, and I agree, but they don't recommend it. What are the possible problems it could cause by removing it, or are they just being over cautious?

Contemplating the same. Subscribed. Plz post pics of safe shield removal and comment on fit/finish/ease of install. Thanks.

lion is indexing every time i reboot on 2010 mbp.
Mine started to do that as well. Stop the indexing on the all volumes with
sudo mdutil -a -i off
then restart sudo mdutil -a -i on
It will report that it will take 48 hours but will finish in 15 min usually. I have had to do this twice. There are several posts on the Dev forums about it.

A midi signal doesn't contain any sound. You need to pick a software instrument in Garageband.
