this has made great improvements over the 2.1 betas. the interface is much more aquified than the older versions and all of the tools are now available in a floating palette instead of the very pc-ish toolbar! this one also seems to be much more stable than the 2.1 betas. TextEdit usually takes care of the majority of my text editing needs, but for the times i need a full word processor i use abiword. i'd say this new version may very well have me using it for everything. i recommend that everybody try this out, you'll be impressed. once the ms word import plug-in works, i think abiword will really take off on the mac.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't think of that, I'm a genius. The only thing is, Can I download the Windows version and burn the .exe onto a disk? I'm trying to set up an old windows PC in the garage and turn it into a jukebox.

That's pretty lucky, technically your warranty was void with the ipad baseband.
Also remember once you have the ipad 6.15 baseband you must always use a custom firmware that doesnt update the baseband. All normal IPSW files will fail after doing ipad baseband.

I went to MacCentric (the new AppleCentre) in Chatswood - they were really good. They convinved me to buy an iPod to add to my iMac that's how good they were hehe not that it took much convincing.
I'll be using iMovie I guess.
I've never done any video editing before, although I did play around with the iMovie tutorial. I don't even have a DV Camera - I just said I'd edit the footage and make a DVD of it to which the answer was phwoooa you can DO that? I said yeah, on my Mac :D

Awesome the apps updating is working great. I tried senuti but for some reason the songs I purchased on itunes are shaded which won't allow me to download them from the phone.

I currently have a blackberry I bought in November so I passed 18 months in May of this year, AT&T told me I was eligible to upgrade in June but when I tried to do so through Apple's website, they said I have to wait until July 26th.
I figure that means I have to go through AT&T in store and I was wondering at what point in time do you guys think it'll be (fairly) easy to get one. I was thinking maybe 2 weeks from now that could be the case, but perhaps I'm just being optimistic. Any guesses or insights?

Is the RAM from Apple? I dont know much about RAM but i do know that the wrong type is not good.
Definitely a good second step. Bad RAM will have the same symptoms so if it isn't a single process, then maybe take the extra RAM out if you're confident doing that sort of thing. :)

I am making an app that will basically consist of two views (it's very similar to the Contacts app). The root view is the main list of items. When the user selects an item, they are presented with a detail view for that item. The detail view consists of a categorized list. Each main item will have the same categories, but may have a different number of items.
So say you click on ItemA. ItemA would have 4 "Awesome Things" and 3 "Dumb Things".
Now ItemB may have 5 "Awesome Things" and only 2 "Dumb Things".
I would basically like to check the view... like:

Personally I have nothing but bad experiences with Western Digital. I suggest Seagate. From a "Consumer" grade standpoint, the Barracuda� XT 3.5" Internal Kitted Drive is great. Otherwise if you want server grade the Seagate Constellation brand is excellent as well.

Ok Ive opened my backup file in Ubuntu and all the phots,videos show automatically....wooohoooo!!
