Will this software be available for other Macs as well?
Like can I use the Remote Drive feature on my Mac Book Pro?
Or will this feature just be for Mac Book Air?
And how do they connect to your other computers? WiFi?

i THINK (someoen else should check on this) there is a age limit-I believe that you must be at least 16 or something like that or have a parent with you-i am not 100% positive i just remember that there might have been something about it when i was registering
again I am not positive and i would like someone else to check on this because I am not totally sure-i am just going off of what i believe i recall

I'm the owner of the site..
The forum software had a filter on it that linked [at] with mailto.. my coadmin set that up. I removed it and fixed it.
Macoverage is the site that I probably won't be working on much, but if you know about my sites (such as the old "Make the Switch")- I often get Apple exclusives.. I need a news site to publish the articles that I find myself from inside sources at Apple and an ADC Premier account.. so I chose to start Macoverage.

I have Fusion 3 (via bootcamp) and housemate has Parallels (don't know what version). He wasn't happy with Parallels, but It also has gone through a number of revisions since. All the reviews say they are pretty much neck and neck for performance. It's just a choice of preference in the interface.

You can tell by the subject line that this is a very "classic" computer. :)
I recently inherited this machine from a co-worker who had it passed down to him, etc. As far as I can tell nobody has attempted to boot it. It is missing the keyboard and mouse but I thought that turning it on would at least give me some sort of error beeps, codes, unhappy face. However, when I flipped the switch all I can hear is the fans, and I believe I also hear the HD but beyond that nothing. No video is displayed (black) and I can't find any other indication of what's wrong.
I realize this is probably a lost cause but I thought I'd post here anyway in hopes that someone has an idea.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, I've installed the Lion Developers Preview, all legit. It's working great and everything. But what happens when the grand master comes out? Can I install it over my existing Lion partition or do I have to delete both my Snow Leopard partition and my Lion preview one and do a clean install?
Cheers :) x
You will need to do a clean install. No upgrades from Lion DP2 to the final release.

I have Mac OS 10.6.7 and in my mail program certain emails show up with weird characters. They look like squares with A's in them. Its not in every email. The email renders fine on my ipod touch. Anyone else experience this?

Thanks you two, I had just worked it out when I checked the thread just now to update it. It was as you said jiminaus I was creating my timer using scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:target:selector:userInfo:repeats: on my main thread. But I solved it by just creating another thread and creating the timer from there, but I'm going to checkout your solution cause it might be more appropriate.
Just tested it and adding it to the common mode works perfectly, thanks again.

Hey all,
Ok, so I have been using the MOTU Ultralite for a number of years now. I end up working on my music off and on, so I am by no means "experienced" in this arena. (I come from the days of the old cassette-based 4-track).
Anyway, after reading rave reviews of the FMR Audio RNP (Really Nice Preamp), I bought it. Having recorded acoustic guitar using a Rode NT1-A into the preamp, and then into input 1 on the MOTU, I've had good results.
Here is my question.....
When I record guitar (1978 Gibson ES-335 with factory coil-tap :D ) , is it better to go from the PREAMP into one of the LINE-INs on the MOTU interface, OR go from the PREAMP into one of the two MIC / INST inputs on the MOTU ?? Isn't that like using two preamps?? I don't use the 48v boost or pads on the MIC / INST input on the MOTU.
For an experiment, I tried going PREAMP > Line-In (Ch3) on the MOTU, loaded up one of the guitar channel strips in Logic, and recorded.
I found that by setting the preamp level to +18db on the RNP (can go from 6-66db of gain), setting the TRIM on the MOTU line input 3 to about 7, I was getting a decent signal. Prior to this, I'd have only 6db of gain on the preamp, the trim on MOTU line 1 set at about 4, and I'd have to use a noise gate quite heavily.
I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not, but it seemed to sound better going through the line-in input. That's my problem!!! I am not sure what the best method is.
The RNP has two channels with HI-Z 1/4 inputs in the front, and two standard XLR jacks in the rear for microphones, both channels also having a +48V button for phantom power for microphones. Additionally, the MOTU first two channels have a 48V toggle switch and pads.
Can anyone provide insight into my dilemma ?
Thanks! :)

You need to get the MPEG2 update for QT 6.3 if you haven't already got it, the MPEG2 componant for 6.2 doesn't work with 6.3, run Software update.
Assuming you haven't already done that of course:D

Hello, I was editing a document with some Japanese and my mac got set to this language. I walked away from the computer and now it's only allowing me to type in Japanese when I try and log back in. Is there a hotkey combo that will allow me to toggle back to English? Thanks
Edit: After I typed the answer below, I found that this is actually a Catch 22-type of problem. You need to set "Show input method at log in" in the Accounts/Log-in Options in System Preferences, but you cannot do that until you are loged in ???.
Anyone know how to get around this? May have to boot up from the System DVD and change the password. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274 "Resetting the original administrator account password"
1. At log in, the language used is as set in the System Preferences, Language and Text, Language -- the system uses the language on the top of the list on the left side. I don't know what t do if you have the system set to show the log in screen. Can you use the mouse and the icon flag/hiragana icon up to the right on the menu bar to select the American flag (English)?
2. On a Japanese keyboard, there is an English and Japanese key on the right and left sides of the space bar. I ssume you have and American or British keyboard, so that doesn't help.
Normally, the hot key to set the language used is Command+Space, but that is set to pop up Spotlight, so go to the System Preferences, Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts, Spotlight, and uncheck both boxes.
You can also mouse up to the top right, (next to the sound indicator) and click on the English flag/Hiragana (あ) and select the language there (depends on what is set in the Language and Text, Input sources dialog box. Set two, English and Kotoeri, switch between them manually using the flag/hiragana icon, then try using the Command+Space hot key. Should work alright now.
You may have to search the Apple database for more info on switching to English at the log-in screen.

Which say: Use the System Preferences from the Apple Menu, follow the instructions as shown above.

There's no version for 8.6. You'll need OS X.
Edit: There's a client for Linux/PPC, but it required a G4 or better.
Edit2: Actually, I found one. SETI@Home X (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/5012/).
Requirements: PowerPC, System 7.5.5

Greetings! I live in a blended family (I use mac :apple:, roommate uses pc  - haven't converted her yet). She and I would like to live in harmony and use a shared desktop workstation.
I've hooked all external components (mouse, keyboard, printer) via USB to a Lenovo K33415 Port Replicator. NEC AccuSync LCD also connected to Port Replicator via VGA.
When I plug her PC in, it recognizes all components immediately. My MacBook recognizes all components except the monitor.
Do I have to use a Mini DisplayPort to connect the monitor to the Mac? Or can I make it work as is with the USB?
Thank you sooooo much!!!! :o

I don't think its an animated character. Some of my emails have the squares with As taking up the whole email. I get emails from like Ebay and the whole message is all squares with As in them. I can even tell when it gets to a link because the squares change to blue.

Do you know if can I extend my A express wireless network with another A express at the printer to connect with usb?
I know you can create a wireless bridge to connect ethernet devices, but I never looked into the USB.

I swear to god, you cannot make this stuff up.
RNC considers selling TV rights of presidential primary debates (http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/03/15/rnc.debates/index.html?hpt=T2)
Washington (CNN) -- The Republican National Committee is considering sanctioning the GOP presidential primary debates and then selling the broadcast rights to news outlets, two Republicans with knowledge of the idea tell CNN.
The proposal was mentioned last week during a meeting of top RNC officials and a handful of political operatives representing potential GOP presidential candidates.
In February, the RNC disclosed it was saddled with more than $22 million of debt left over from the 2010 midterm elections. At that time, newly elected Chairman Reince Priebus acknowledged the committee has "a lot of work to do" to pay off its obligations so it can focus on raising money for the 2012 presidential election.
It is unclear if it is legal for the RNC to sell the broadcasting rights or whether it would constitute a prohibited political contribution in the eyes of federal law.I'm delighted to hear that the RNC is in so much debt (unions, Moveon.org, etc., get those fundraising campaigns in gear now!), and I should point out that this idea is nowhere past the suggestion stage, but boy, talk about cheapening yourself....
Maybe the candidates could raise money too by wearing NASCAR-type suits, with brand logos all over them.

I'm confused...
I'm on a Windows machine right now and my space bar acts like a space bar, not an enter key.
Why would you want the space bar to act like an enter key?
You'd
have

write
sentences
like
this.
